Genicular Artery Embolisation (GAE)

Painful Knee Osteoarthritis Treatment – A GAE is a new, minimally invasive procedure used to treat chronic knee pain, caused by osteoarthritis.

It involves injecting tiny particles into the genicular arteries, which supply blood to the knee joint, to reduce inflammation and pain by limiting excess blood flow.

Haemorrhoidal Artery Embolisation (HAE)

Bleeding and Prolapsed Haemorrhoids Treatment – A HAE is a new, minimally invasive treatment for persistent bleeding haemorrhoids. A microcatheter, a small hollow plastic tube, is carefully navigated into the haemorrhoidal artery under image guidance.

Once in position, coils are deployed to reduce the blood supply to the haemorrhoids.

Prostate Artery Embolisation (PAE)

Benign Prostate Hyperplasia (enlarged prostate) Treatment – A PAE involves inserting a catheter into the arteries that supply blood to the prostate.

Tiny particles are then injected to block blood flow to specific areas of the prostate, causing it to shrink and relieve symptoms of an enlarged prostate.

Uterine Artery Embolisation (UAE)

Fibroids and Adenomyosis Treatment – A UAE is a minimally invasive procedure used to treat fibroids or adenomyosis.

A UAE blocks the blood flow to the uterine arteries causing the fibroid and adenomyosis tissue to shrink over time to help relieve bleeding, painful periods or pressure symptoms.

Ovarian Vein Embolisation (OVE)

Pelvic Congestion Syndrome (PCS) Treatment – PCS is one of many potential causes of chronic pelvic pain.

If diagnosis is confirmed, an OVE blocks the vein with a combination of coils and a medical grade irritant which causes the vein to clot.

Varicocoele Embolisation (VE)

Symptomatic Varicocoeles and Male Infertility Treatment – A VE is a minimally invasive operation where a catheter, a small hollow plastic tube, is placed into the gonadal vein. The vein is blocked with a combination of coils and a medical grade irritant which causes the vein to clot.

Port Insertion

A Port Insertion is a medical procedure whereby a reservoir compartment (port) is placed under the skin, usually over the chest.

A port provides easy, long term access to the vein allowing the delivery of medications, fluids and the drawing of blood.
